Imagine:

You sit in a canoe on a large lake surrounded by short but steep cliffs and rolling hills abundent in towering hardwoods and thick evergreens.  The water is like glass, so still it perfectly mirrors the pale blue sky full of puffy clouds painted orange and gold by the rising sun.  There are no sounds to be heard save for the birds singing their greeting to the morning and the buzz of some nearby insects.  At irregular intervals, there is a startling splash as a fish leaps high above the water for its breakfast or a beaver tail-slaps the water to communicate with its friends and enemies.  Faultless, concentric ripples fan out for a hundred yards to point to the source of these aquatic disturbances.  A sudden movement in the otherwise calm of the pre-dawn is caught in your peripheral vision:  a couple does and their offspring are swimming across the lake with only their heads visible above the water.  What compels them to make such a hazardous trek?  What mood will the fish be in today?  How many other places in this world will this scenario be replicated today? Who will be there to see them?  Can there be anything more awe-inspiring than a scene like this?

The beauty, the circularity, the flawlessness and the complexity of such a scene cannot be the result of an accident or a random event and is far beyond any work of man.  Can one do anything less than wonder about the Creator having such an experience?

this is cool. It's nice to just reflect on nature and look at what God can do. I know when i was at the Grand Canyon I was thinking about that.

I agree.

What brings me to Jesus is that type of awe inspiring beauty.

I have been blessed enough to have seen many man-made "wonders" all over the world, but it is easy to realize that nature is so marvelous and complex that it could only have come from the Creator.  Man's attempts can't come close to such splendor.

These instances are definately a sign of the creators beauty and unimaginable bounds.  I am reminded of my personal uniqueness when I see such scenarios, such creativity in me that makes me so special and wonderful in his light.
